CAMPING

Our campsite has been set up to accommodate those back or bike packing the South Downs Way or on breaks to enjoy the countryside. The field we use is about 100m off the SDW trail with beautiful panoramic views over the village and surrounding countryside.

We don’t have formal pitches and are happy to accept groups/DofE but we are not a ‘party’ venue.

Dogs are welcome provided they are kept under control on a lead as this is a working farm with livestock.

We stock some supplies in the Farm Shop and breakfasts/sandwiches for packed lunches can be ordered at check in.

Facilities

We have a toilet(s) and a mains water supply in the field.

There is parking for cars just outside the field.

Charges

We endeavour to keep fees low to provide a safe place for back packers to stop over. For the past few years it has been £10 per person per night but this may have to be reviewed subject to costs rising.

Rules

No music/parties
No open fires/fire pits
Quiet from 10pm
No vehicles on the field
Guests to be responsible for taking away rubbish/recycling from the camping field

Check in ideally, is from 3pm to 7pm at the farmyard entrance/Farm Shop area, being the central point and is close/visible from the trail.

Checkout is 10am.

How to book

Please email, phone or WhatsApp using the details at the bottom of this page.

Whilst we can generally accommodate ‘walk ins’, being a working farm it is helpful for us to know to expect people.

Things to do

There’s a wonderful network of footpaths and bridleways to explore the surrounding countryside and observe the downland flora and fauna.

A short trip to the North takes you to Midhurst and to the South is the Weald and Downland Living Museum at Singleton, West Dean Gardens and a little further to the historical city of Chichester.

Archery - Through the warmer months of the year, we do host the local Leaping Hart Club on Sunday mornings so an experience session can usually be arranged.

Directions/How to get to us

We really are right on the South Downs Way so if you are walking or cycling the trail just stay on it and you will come to us.

If you are coming by public transport the best option is the number 60 bus which runs from Chichester rail station to Midhurst and stops at the SDW cross roads, then it’s just a short walk up to the Farm or click here to find us on Google maps.
