FARM SHOP

In our farm shop we stock rare and traditional breed meat reared on our farm plus a few selected ranges from local producers and offer refreshments for those walking and cycling.

We stock pork, beef, lamb, eggs, venison, local honey, local preserves and Caroline's Dairy Ice Cream, as well as snacks and drinks (sausage rolls, sandwiches, cakes, hot & cold drinks).

We can supply meat in small packs ex the shop or in freezer packs, ie whole lambs, 12kg beef, whole/half pigs.

OUR LAMB: This is produced from our flock of ewes which are predominantly Blue Faced Leicester cross Swaledale which make a good mothering, hardy sheep. We have kept some daughters which have given us some Hampshire, Suffolk and Oxford ewes. Last year we ran two Border Leicester rams and we have kept several ewe lambs to increase the flock size.

OUR PORK: This comes from our pedigree herd of Oxford and Sandy Black pigs, which is a native breed. Being a traditional breed they are slower maturing which all leads to more flavour. They are a good all round pig producing a fine grained, sweet pork. Our bacon and gammon is all dry cured.

OUR BEEF: is quality grass fed beef, grazing on the downs throughout the year, being housed only when necessary. The beef is matured for 21 days before butchering.

BRONZE TURKEYS & GEESE for Christmas time. We continue to work with another local farmer for our fresh poultry. These are outdoor reared geese and bronze turkeys. There is also an option for ducks, guinea fowl and large chickens. The earlier your order is placed the better, so we can meet your ideal size.

VENISON when in season

BACON: We dry cure all our bacon and gammons which is a longer process but gives a traditional quality product.

CATERING: For special occasions we can cook some of our lovely Oxford Sandy & Black pork for you. We can provide a spit roast with lovely crackling and trimmings, sausages/burgers for barbecuing or smoked pulled pork.

Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

OUR WOOL is from the Castlemilk Moorit sheep which we had for some time as part of a conservation grazing project. This is a beautiful brown with a lovely soft texture available in 4 ply, DK and Aran. We have a specially designed hat and mittens available ready-made or as a DIY gift pack.

The farm shop is open Friday-Sunday 11am-4pm.

We can open outside these times by arrangement.

Walking groups welcome.
